Xbox ONE Announcement! (Including Full Video Presentation)
After eight long years, we have finally met the Xbox 360′s successor: The Xbox One. Microsoft has announced the Xbox One, at the “Xbox A New Generation” Announcement, broadcast live from Redmond, WA. and will be released later this year. (If you missed the Full Presentation you can watch it below)
The Xbox One is powered by an 8-core x86 AMD CPU, and a GPU that’s very similar to the Radeon 7790. There’s 8GB of DDR3 RAM (shared between the CPU and GPU), 32MB of very fast SRAM on the graphics die, and a total of 200GB of memory bandwidth. There’s also some new tech in the Kinect 2.0, which will come with the Xbox One. There’s a Blu-ray drive, 500GB hard drive, 802.11n WiFi (with WiFi Direct), HDMI in and out, Gigabit Ethernet, and USB 3.0. There’ll be three 802.11n radios, so that the console can connect to your gamepads (WiFi Direct), mobile devices, and home network without added latency.
The Xbox 360 controller is commonly regarded as the greatest controller ever made, but with the introduction of the Xbox One, Microsoft is changing the formula with a new design and over 40 enhancements.
As you can see, it has a new look but it's quite similar to the Xbox 360's controller, with a different handle contour, but with off-set analog sticks, the A, B, X and Y face buttons, a directional pad, and two new buttons where Start and Back were.
Also at the event they showed off some new features of the new Kinect 2.0 showing how you can now instantly switch from either playing your game, watching a movie or even watching Live TV now ect. At the event Microsoft announced that by the end of next year 2014 there will be 15 brand-new Xbox one exclusive games. There were also some presentations from EA, and a new game from Remedy Entertainment call Quantum Break.
Activision was also there showing off the new Call of Duty: Ghosts showing comparisons from Infinity Wards previous game COD: MW3, and they talked about how Call of Duty: Ghosts is a brand-new game built off a brand-new gaming engine.
After the new Call of Duty: Ghosts was announced and showed off that was pretty much it for the show so we hope to hear more soon at E3 2013 about the new console and all the new games and more features to be released for the new Xbox One.
